Words For Your Weekend

I’m going to start a new series. Every Friday, I will have some encouraging words for you to take with you for the weekend. They will be a variety of sayings/passages from various places, but all centered on one theme: living a life for Christ.

On to today’s edition of “words for your weekend!”

Boldness – being willing and eager to face hardship with a sense of confidence and fearlessness.

Being a Christian doesn’t make a person popular with the world. God gives all that we need to stand up and be counted for Him even if those around us don’t get it or even oppose us.

Psalm 128:3 – When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted. (NIV)

“Lord, give me opportunities today that will require boldness on my part- and then give me the boldness to respond to whatever opportunities come my way.”

My Ministry???

Hey for those of you who read my Sunday post and are waiting to meet our newest addition, Sorry to disappoint but I haven't gotten the picture yet. I can hardly wait to get it!! I've been wondering for a while now just how does God want me to serve him? What is my ministry? God calls each and everyone of his children to serve him in some way or another and I wasn't sure what mine was. Until now. I really believe that at this point in my life, my ministry is kids. You see, I babysit for 4, I have 2 of my own and I write to 3 sponsor children. It really makes sense that this would be my ministry. On top of all that I feel that I would like to be a Sunday school teacher. Kids as my ministry seems strange to me cause I did NOT ever want to have kids. That is until I met my husband. My Spirited, trouble making, blessings.

My children are a handful some days (usually the days that I’m tired and have limited patience), my daughter is ‘spirited’ and my son is just a trouble maker. He loves to make people laugh and does so in a variety of different ways. Take last week for example, He decided to crawl onto our table (which is higher than normal), stand and then touch my light fixtures. Well, the other two babies that I babysit thought this was hilarious, so they would laugh and he would keep doing it. Then mom (me) seeing what was happening, would come take him off the table, tell him to stay off and carry about my business. However, that doesn’t work with him very well. So he would do it all over again and get the same response from his ‘audience’. Finally, in order to make him stop, I had to put him into his crib where he couldn’t get out.
